“I was maybe 10 yrs old. My neighbor had a crush on me, Christy, and it wasnt reciprocated. On V day she gave me a card and candies. I ate the chocolates, tossed the card. She was insulted, upset. That week i was riding my foot scooter home when 2 boys i’d never seen stopped me. The bigger of the 2 asked if I knew Christy. I barely finished saying ‘yeah’ when i got sucker punched in the jaw. They laughed. Saying ‘thats for Christy”, and went on their way.”
